We are thrilled to report our stud dogs have already picked up three Majors in the first two show weekends of 2008. Happy New Year!

**** Flash: Barry was Winners Dog for a five-point major Jan. 12, owner/breeder handled on the Puyallup Circuit, his first weekend in Open. ****

Best Opposite in Sweeps and Reserve Winners Dog from the 9-12 mo class, IPLRC (littermate Snap was Best in Sweeps), Judges were Margaret Brown, Ramsayville Labradors, Scotland and Mary McCullough, Frewlings Labs, Scotland.

Prelim at 14 months, hips Good, elbows Normal
Eyes: OptiGen A by parentage, ACVO cleared at eight weeks and again on 1/18/08
Heart clearance preformed by a certified cardiologist

Nipntuck Big Leaguer (Apple x CH Belgairn Tom Jones), "Barry" top photo at twelve months and bottom at fourteen. Barry is looking great, and has just the kind of stable, fun-loving, willing to please personality we value so much here. He is now available for stud services to approved bitches. His first three breedings have gone well, we hope to have pregnancies confirmed soon. Barry's pedigree and his clearances are here.

Barry is tall and athletic, has absolutely fabulous structure, loves to swim and is an insane retriever. He has more retrieving drive than any dog I've owned, and I am confident can produce puppies suitable for hunt test work at the highest levels. We are beginning his field training in February. He is so athletic he is an enormous show off, leaping fences and the other dogs just for fun. Then he'll stop in a perfect show pose, head up, tail out, as if there's no other way for him to look. He is a great show dog, we're very pleased with him.

Marion Hopkinson's critique when Barry won the 6-9 mo dog class at the Canadian National: "Good-sized puppy with lovely solid body, gives a very good outline, good length of neck into shoulder, well ribbed and good quarter, hocks nice and firm and an easy mover both ways." Barry also won his class at the LRC, Inc. National Specialty.

***Trip takes back-to-back four-point majors at the spectacular Rose City Classic shows in Portland in January***

"Trip" (Nipntuck Cheerleaders Triple Play)
is a lovely son of Rah Rah and multiple BISS CH Hyspire Sureshot Impressive. Trip was Best Puppy at PSLRA 2006, and is the only yellow littermate to the already multiple specialty winners Booty, Nat (Nipntuck Unforgetable, owned by the Hyspire ladies and WD, BOW at the Potomac Bare Bones show, and WD, BOB at GGLRC), and Drummer (owned by Rick Mullen and Cindy King, multiple specialty WD and BOB winner, including WD and BOB at PSLRA 2007 and multiple Best in Sweeps winner). Trip has grown up very nicely, he is a sweet, mellow boy with a beautiful head and structure and jet black pigment. He has prelimmed normal hips and elbows and we finally got his finals done 1/25 and they looked really, really good. His eyes were cleared by an ACVO opthamologist on 1/18/08, and are Optigen cleared by parentage. His first puppies are impressive, check out Genie on my girls' page. Trip looks to be a fabulous producer for us, stud inquiries welcome.

Trip's back-to-back four-point majors at the Rose City Classic shows in Portland came under the talented guidance of Tonya Strubel. Tonya was able to do what I hoped she would, take the cute, goober marshmallow of a dog I had been showing and present the beautiful (although still a wiggle worm) Labrador underneath. The Labrador ring at these shows was a huge entry, filled with lovely dogs, top-notch breeders and professional handlers. To be able to win back-to-back majors here was a real honor, I am so pleased!

Here is Trip's pedigree. There are many more pictures of Trip and Barry on the Portland Dog Shows slideshow.

Marion Hopkinson's critique of Trip after winning the BBE class at the Canadian National: "Very typey yellow with a melting expression from a well-chiselled head, good construction throughout with firm topline and good quarter. . . One I liked a lot."

Nipntuck Firecracker, "Rudy," photo at five months. Charm x Shahli Hyspire Hotter 'n Blazes. He and all his littermates' eyes were cleared by an ACVO opthomologist at 8 weeks.

We are excited to have what appears to be a fox red stud dog from our own bloodlines. He looks a bit light now, those who have reds say that's normal and when his adult coat comes in it will become richer with each shed. A Bullmastiff breeder told me their reds don't set their color until they are three or four years old, so if he continues to get darker, he will be quite red indeed. Two of his littermates are with breeders in Europe. Rudy began his field training in February, we are looking forward to this boy's future. His pedigree is here.

I don't care what color he is at this point, he is just plain old NICE! We are really excited about Rudy, he is looking great. Thanks, Misha, for the pictures. :)

Rudy and Sissy playing in the snow on 1/28 at four and a half months old. These pictures give a better feel for how his color compares to a typical yellow.

There are also pictures of him as a newborn in the small slideshow on the puppies page. It was then that his color difference was the most dramatic, whenever I question whether he is still red I go back and look at his newborn pictures, and that makes us believe he is, indeed, a fox red. Time will tell.

Here's is Rah Rah's Christmas present to us, our little singleton, Nipntuck Stocking Stuffer--Coal, by Shahli Hyspire Hotter 'n Blazes at one week old, and stacked pics at eight weeks. Being watched over here by his Momma's Potomac goose, sending best wishes for his future. He is one spoiled baby, for sure. :) Come see a slide show of Coal at six weeks out for his first adventure in the snow.

Charlie (Nipntuck It's A Dog's Life) is a lovely son of CH Dickendall Davron Gable and our Brodie daughter, Lucy (Skyfire Nipntuck Having a Ball). Charlie is yellow and a big, substantial boy, and wear proud to announce he has all his important clearances: OFA Hip and elbow normal ratings and an OptiGen A1, all clear of PRA. He was BOS in Sweeps at PSLRA under Annette Watkins, to our own Apple. ;-) Ms. Watkins' critique of Charlie:

"He is a big boy and an impressive dog. He has a lot of substance, a lot of breadth, he's big but I like his balance. Wonderful movement and he stays together as he moves out. A soft, sweet, mush pie attitude. He is a really quality dog."

Charlie is co-owned with our old neighbor, Donna Shuman, and has been siring beautiful puppies. His puppies tend to have tons of bone, angles, and jet black pigment. Congrats to his first Champion, "Emma," bred and owned by Dan and Debbie Neal. Here is his pedigree.

Am/Can. CH Nipntuck Raging Spirit "Kale" (CH Raintree Slippery When Wet, JH x Nipntuck Felicia) has had a remarkable show career. At RCLRC 1999 he thrilled us all by winning the BBE class and going WD at just 13 months old, under judge Heather Wiles-Fone. He finished in Canada by going WD and BOW at their National Specialty and at BCLRC. He finishing his American Championship in great style by going WD and BOW at PSLRA under Australian breeder-judge Guy Spagnolo. Kale is owned by Dan and Debbie Neal, Deer Island, OR.
